In a recent CTV news segment, our very own Kim Ewchuk, Licensed Sales Representative and General Manager, educated home buyers on what they should be looking for – and looking into – when they’re on the hunt for a new house.

Kim recommends that, in addition to scoping out the obvious selling features like the number of bedrooms or bathrooms, buyers should also be aware of details that indicate the condition of the home. Did you test the taps to look for leaks? Are the window seals in good shape? You don’t have to be a snoop to get the low-down on these important features!

Besides testing and inspecting what you can while visiting the home, Kim also urges buyers to learn as much as they can about renovations or possible issues by getting a home inspection done prior to purchasing, and by reviewing a property disclosure statement. These simple steps can give you a clearer picture of the property’s condition, and could save a lot of aggravation and expenses down the road!
